The prototype e-BODE was launched at the Houses of the Future exhibition in Sydney in October 2004. The event was closed to the public at the end of October 2005,and the prototype moved to the NSW Hunter Valley. Mod-Eco are now manufacturing the e-BODE for MODABODE in Albury, NSW.
A single module e-BODE will cost AU$129,000 +GST.
The price includes high-quality kitchen and bathroom fittings, flooring, services fit-out and the decking. Site and transportation costs will vary according to location and site conditions. A second module will cost about 20% less, as it will not be necessary to double up on kitchens and other high-value fittings. Please note that it will be possible to configure a larger home in various ways, which could include one-and-a-half module layouts.

- Send photos and a site plan to MODABODE.
- MODABODE locates an e-BODE to suit your requirements on the site, taking orientation, slopes, access and neighbouring buildings into consideration.
- MODABODE consults with Planning Officer to ensure that the Council's Development Control Plan agrees in principle with the e-BODE.
- There is no fee for this obligation-free preliminary service.
- An initial deposit of $3,500 +GST allows MODABODE to prepare detailed specifications and plans for the Development Application.
- MODABODE visits the site to finalise the siting of the e-BODE and discuss your requirements and the options available in more depth.
- Following a survey of the site levels and an analysis of the soil to establish the bearing capacity, the Structural Engineer designs the foundations.
- MODABODE sends a full specification with a final quote for your approval. The price does not include foundation construction, services connections, landscaping, site surveys or Council DA fees.
- The detailed drawings and specifications are submitted to the Council with the Development Application, and we all await approval and the receipt of the Construction Certificate.
- The Building Agreement is signed, and following payment of a 40% of the cost of the e-BODE, the factory is instructed to manufacture the modules.
- You appoint a local builder to lay the foundations in accordance with the Engineer's drawings and prepare the utility connections.
- The e-BODE modules arrive on flat-bed trucks and are bolted onto the pad foundations. The roof and verandah decks are fitted to the modules on the same day.
- The balance due is paid, your builder completes the landscaping and you move in!
