The six Houses of the Future are on display for just three more months at the Sydney Olympic Park. The exhibition is open seven days a week until 31 October 2005 and entry is free. The excellent exhibition website has masses of info about the houses and their design teams and sponsors. The prototype e-BODE is known as the ‘Steel House’.

MODABODE is now working closely with manufacturers and a small group of clients to build the first units in NSW. We cannot take orders from other states yet, but we intend to develop production across the country in the future. MODABODE is not operating in the USA, but we are keen to hear from companies in a position to manufacture the modules across the pond. Current cost estimates (in AU$) can be found on the 'your abode' page. The figures will be updated as soon as more detailed pricing is available.

There is another batch of upcoming publicity for the e-BODE! The concept will soon feature in the Qantas magazine and in Taste, a new publication that promotes well-designed sustainable products. In addition, MODABODE is presenting a talk about the Steel House at the Sydney Building Information Centre on 15 September.

MODABODE recently designed a 230 sq.m eco-home in Sydney. The timber-clad house cascades down the steep rocky site to maximise passive solar performance while ‘touching the earth lightly’. We would be delighted to discuss your plans for a one-off, custom-designed building.
